COMO ZOO PROJECTS
St. Paul, Minnesota

During the past 28 years, RRTL has worked with the Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Board on multiple projects for Como Zoo and adjacent Como Park sites. RRTL’s Master Plan for the Zoo guided the redevelopment efforts. Five key exhibits and several smaller exhibits were implemented during this period for the Zoo. Included are the extremely popular Large Cats Exhibit, the Marine Mammals Exhibit, the Hoofed Stock Exhibit, the Primate Exhibit, and Seal Island’s recreation. The nearby Butterfly Picnic Shelters guard the edge of an open play field. During this period millions of visitors have enjoyed the Zoo and the comfort of the Picnic Shelters.

In 2010, the Polar Bear Exhibit opened.  RRTL served as the associate architect under CLR Design from Philadelphia for the Como Polar Exhibit expansion of RRTL’s 1983 Marine Mammal Exhibit at Como Zoo.

And in 2013, The Gorilla Forest Exhibit opened.  RRTL served as the associate architect under CLR Design from Philadelphia for the exhibit expansion of RRTL’s 1983 Primate Exhibit at Como Zoo.
